This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected organisation providing sustainable and reliable power to sectors including construction, utilities, and infrastructure.
The RoleYou'll play a key role supporting the Workshop Foreman and Rental Team with the preparation, testing, maintenance, and repair of generator sets (15KVA and above). This is primarily a depot-based position, though occasional site work will be required.
Key Responsibilities- Service, maintain, and ensure the overall appearance and performance of hire generators meet company standards.
- Follow manufacturer-recommended service schedules and procedures.
- Assist in general yard duties, including loading and unloading equipment.
- Operate a forklift as needed (training available).
- Return and re-book generators into stock after service or hire.
- Attend customer sites to carry out repairs and servicing when required.
- Participate in the engineer call-out rota (currently 1 week in 5, following training).
- Install and synchronise generator packages both in the depot and on site.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and comply with Health & Safety policies.
- Adhere to all company quality and environmental standards, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
About You- Qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant Maintenance (City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent).
- - OR - Experienced in working with generators or large diesel engines.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Forklift Truck Licence beneficial (training can be provided).
- Previous workshop or service engineering experience preferred.
- CSCS Card advantageous (training available).
- Flexible and adaptable approach to meet business needs.
