🕒 Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (Mon–Fri, early Friday finish)
💷 Salary: Up to £24,000 per annum (depending on experience)
📄 Contract: Permanent
🧠 Experience Level: Entry-level / Graduate / Career-starter

A fast-growing UK software company is looking for a Junior IT Technician to join its internal IT team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate, college leaver, or someone at the start of their IT career who enjoys problem-solving, learning on the job, and being the go-to person when technology needs fixing.

You’ll be based in the office full-time, working closely with experienced IT colleagues who’ll help you build real-world technical skills quickly. Expect variety, responsibility, and plenty of opportunities to learn.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll report directly to the IT Manager and play a hands-on role supporting staff across the business.

Day to day, you’ll be:
  • Providing 1st line internal IT support (hardware & software)
  • Troubleshooting desktops, laptops, peripherals and user issues
  • Assisting with web application updates using FTP
  • Supporting and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server databases
  • Working with Microsoft 365 applications
  • Creating and maintaining clear IT documentation and guides
  • Getting involved in wider IT projects as your skills grow
This is a role where no two days look the same - perfect if you like variety and hate being bored.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • A Level, BTEC or equivalent qualification in IT / Computing
  • A genuine interest in IT and technology
  • Awareness of Microsoft 365, Azure and Intune
  • Logical thinker with good problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator — written and verbal
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
👉 No formal commercial experience required. If you’ve built PCs, fixed tech for friends or family, or learned through study or projects that would be great!

Desirable (Nice to Have)

  • Additional IT or technical qualifications
  • Experience building, repairing or maintaining computers
  • Exposure to IT support in education, placements, or personal projects

The Kind of Person Who’ll Thrive Here

  • Calm when things go wrong
  • Takes pride in doing things properly
  • Willing to take ownership and follow tasks through
  • Curious, keen to learn and improve
  • Friendly, approachable and easy to work with

What’s In It for You

  • Annual salary review & discretionary bonus
  • Increasing holiday entitlement with length of service
  • Pension scheme
  • Private medical cover after probation
  • Life assurance (4x salary)
  • Income protection
  • Structured onboarding and regular check-ins during probation
  • Supportive team with real development opportunities

Important Bits
  • Successful applicants will complete a short online assessment before interview
  • This role is office-based and not remote
