TECHNICAL BUYER
Location: Dudley
Salary: £42,000 per annum

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Technical Buyer to join a team in Dudley. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, products, and engineering services required to support our customers and internal operations.

The Role

As a Technical Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and purchasing goods, materials, and services essential for our production and service operations. Your responsibilities will include:

" Outsourcing products and engineering services to support our customer base
" Ensuring timely, cost-effective procurement of goods and services
" Monitoring delivery schedules to meet customer requirements
" Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
" Analysing market trends to secure competitive pricing
" Negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms
" Developing and implementing effective procurement strategies
" Managing inventory levels and ensuring stock availability
" Coordinating with internal departments to ensure smooth material flow
" Updating and maintaining accurate purchasing records and data
" Ensuring all activities comply with procurement policies and regulations

Skills & Qualifications

" Strong purchasing/buying experience, ideally within engineering or MRO
" Experience in the commercial engineering sector
" Solid understanding of procurement and supply chain processes
" Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
" Strong Excel and general IT skills
" Confident negotiating and supplier management skills

Education & Experience

" GCSE or equivalent
" Previous experience in a technical or engineering purchasing role
