THE ROLE:
This role involves leading a team of in-house presenting officers, coordinating assignments for external advocates, and ensuring high quality representation during statutory committee hearings. While primarily managerial, the position also includes direct advocacy in complex cases, with occasional appearances in the High Court. It is a hybrid role, requiring 1–2 days in the office each week, with the remainder worked remotely.
THE CANDIDATE:
The organisation is seeking a qualified barrister with a minimum of five years’ experience. The ideal candidate will possess experience in professional regulation or a regulatory environment, along with a proven track record in tribunal advocacy and the ability to interpret complex legislation, case law, and guidance. Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills are essential, and experience handling high profile cases is desirable.
