PERSONAL INJURY SOLICITOR (9-month FTC) CLAIMANT, 1-3 PQE, CARDIFF, C. £40,000, 3 DAYS OFFICE-BASED AND 2 REMOTE, TO START AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. A great opportunity for a solicitor seeking a temporary position, offering the chance to handle a diverse personal injury caseload with significant independence. • Running your own caseload of claimant multi-track personal injury matters from initial instruction through to settlement or trial, with responsibility for progressing files in line with the CPR and relevant Pre-Action Protocols
• Meeting clients at the outset to take full instructions and advise on liability, causation and value, developing a clear strategy and keeping on top of limitation, procedural steps and costs exposure
• Preparing and reviewing key litigation documents, including pleadings, schedules of loss, witness evidence, applications and briefs for counsel and experts
• Liaising with medical and other experts, handling disclosure, assembling trial bundles (including electronic bundles) and attending case management conferences, pre-trial reviews and interim hearings, with scope to undertake advocacy in suitable matters
• Progressing claims towards settlement through effective negotiation, Part 36 offers and alternative dispute resolution, as well as obtaining interim payments and supporting client rehabilitation where appropriate
• Working on a hybrid basis, typically three days in the office and two from home
