HSE Recruitment are looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental Officer (HSE) for a company based in Burntwood, Lichfield.
This is a high risk manufacturing site with just shy of 200 people. It is a busy environment with a positive Health & Safety culture. Working alongside the experienced and longstanding HSE Coordinator you will help develop and deliver the H&S strategy for the site. You will provide safety leadership and drive behavioural based safety development. They operate an open door policy so it will be a hand’s on role which requires you to be adaptable and flexible to the needs of the site.
Other responsibilities include:
- Supporting the management of the Risk Management process in line with group systems including General Risk Assessments, Manual Handling / Ergonomics / Repetitive Task Assessment, COSHH, DSE etc. ensuring risks are controlled, preventative measures implemented and routine reviews done with Departmental Managers.
- Support the HSE Coordinator in the coordination and management of legal & statutory requirements e.g. COSHH, PUWER, LOLER etc. recording and reporting any non-compliance and following up on any actions
- Undertake Inspections / Audits / Safety Walks as per annual plan, review controls to ensure they are suitable and define nonconformances and following up on actions as required.
- Record and communicate all accidents or near miss incidents and support as required in investigations
- Manage or support delivery of training events or workshops e.g. HSE Basics, Work Place Data Sheet, Manual Handling, inductions etc.
- Daily Contractor Management
What we are looking for:
- Experience in a similar level role; Advisor, Coordinator or Officer level.
- Manufacturing experience ideally in a fast paced environment.
- NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum or working towards.
- Positive, proactive and motivated self starter
- Able to travel occasionally
Salary is £35-38,000 depending on experience This is a site based role with no hybrid working
