We are currently supporting one of the UK’s leading and fastest-growing training providers, rated Good by Ofsted and supporting over 2,000 apprentices nationwide. Due to continued growth and ambitious plans for 2026 and beyond, they are now looking to appoint Insurance Apprenticeship Skills Coaches to support apprentices across the insurance and financial services sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance professional—such as a trainer, coach, mentor, or manager—who is passionate about developing others. Previous apprenticeship experience is welcomed but not essential, as the organisation will support the successful candidate to achieve their assessor qualification (CAVA/TAQA) where required.
Role DetailsLocation: Home-based / Remote
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm)
Salary: £32,000 – £40,000 (dependent on experience)

About the RoleAs a skills coach, you will guide and develop a caseload of apprentices, ensuring their progress aligns with apprenticeship standards, quality requirements, and key performance indicators. You will provide tailored coaching and support throughout the learner journey, helping apprentices achieve professional insurance qualifications and successfully prepare for End Point Assessment (EPA).
Key Responsibilities- Manage and support a caseload of apprentices undertaking insurance apprenticeships up to Level 6
- Conduct initial skills assessments to identify starting points and tailor learning journeys
- Deliver engaging training and coaching sessions on a 1:1 and group basis, remotely and in the workplace
- Facilitate learner inductions and manage onboarding and enrolment activities
- Hold monthly progress reviews with apprentices and employers to track development and set meaningful objectives
- Coach apprentices to develop and evidence knowledge, skills, and behaviours (KSBs) aligned to the apprenticeship standard
- Support learners through portfolio development and preparation for EPA
- Build strong working relationships with employers and line managers to support learner progress and engagement
- Maintain accurate and timely learner records, including off-the-job training evidence
- Work to agreed quality standards, completion targets, and programme timelines
- Escalate learner or employer concerns appropriately and contribute to continuous improvement activity
- Participate in standardisation, development, and quality meetings as required
Skills, Experience & QualificationsEssential:- Recent and substantial occupational experience within the insurance sector (e.g., underwriting, broking, claims, financial services)
- Minimum CII qualification (Diploma or above preferred)
- Experience working as a trainer, coach, mentor, team leader, or senior insurance professional
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:- Assessor qualification (A1, TAQA, or CAVA), or willingness to work towards
- Teaching qualification
- Experience working within apprenticeships or a regulated education environment (Ofsted/ESFA)
- Understanding of EPA requirements and processes
