Job Description

The Stock Controller is responsible for maintaining high levels of stock accuracy and ensuring effective stock management across the Distribution Centre. This includes cycle counting, stock rotation, discrepancy investigation, and supporting inbound/outbound processes. The Stock Controller will also support and deputise for the Warehouse Supervisor when required and ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the site.

What you will be doing as an Inventory Stock Controller
  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc stock counts to maintain high levels of stock accuracy.
  • Manage the stock counting cycle, ensuring timely completion and recording of all counts.
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, working closely with relevant departments to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper rotation of stock within the warehouse to minimise obsolescence and support efficient stock usage (e.g., FIFO).
  • Process inbound and outbound stock movements, including the checking, labelling, and recording of goods received or dispatched.
  • Load and unload deliveries safely and accurately, ensuring documentation is completed correctly.
  • Support warehouse operations, ensuring daily tasks are completed effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Deputise for the Warehouse Supervisor as required, overseeing team members and maintaining workflow.
  • Assist with training and supporting team members on stock control procedures and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards, warehouse protocols, and company policies at all times.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance warehouse performance and stock control processes.
Location – Your base location will be Didcot Distribution Centre, OX11.
Working Hours – Full-Time – 36 hours per week.
