Transformation Manager – Timetabling (6-Month Contract)

Location: Central London / Hybrid
Day Rate: £500 (Umbrella)
Hours: 36.5 per week
Duration: 6 months

Are you an experienced transformation professional ready to lead major change at one of the UK’s top universities? This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of student services and timetabling within a globally recognised institution, driving real impact on the student and staff experience.

The Role

As a Transformation Manager, you’ll take the reins of a major timetabling transformation programme — leading its mobilisation, structure, and early delivery. This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone who thrives in complexity and can bring pace, clarity, and momentum from day one.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across academic, student services, and IT functions, ensuring that the programme delivers measurable benefits aligned with institutional strategy. From defining delivery models to embedding new ways of working, this role demands both strategic vision and operational drive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the mobilisation and delivery of a major timetabling transformation roadmap.
  • Align initiatives with organisational strategy and student experience goals.
  • Oversee multiple workstreams, ensuring governance, risk control, and delivery standards are met.
  • Partner with senior leaders to redesign services, processes, and operating models.
  • Promote collaboration across teams to ensure alignment and momentum.
  • Measure impact through clear KPIs and benefits tracking.
About YouWe’re seeking a change leader with proven experience delivering timetabling transformation or similar complex programmes within the higher education sector. You’ll combine strategic insight with strong delivery discipline, stakeholder credibility, and the ability to navigate ambiguity.

Essential Criteria
  • 5+ years delivering timetabling or service transformation in a university environment.
  • Strong background in organisational change, service improvement, or operating model design.
  • Experience managing multi-project portfolios and leading project managers.
  • Exceptional stakeholder influence and communication skills at senior levels.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving ability.
This opportunity suits someone who enjoys shaping clarity from complexity — a collaborative leader ready to turn institutional ambitions into tangible outcomes.
Interested? Apply now to join a purpose-driven team shaping smarter, more student-focused operations at one of the UK’s most ambitious universities.
