Job Description
Location: Countywide – offices in Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, and Lowestoft
Working pattern: Hybrid (2–3 days office-based, 2 days WFH)
Rate: £35 per hour
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Learning Disabilities and Autism Team within Suffolk Council. This role is countywide, offering a blend of office presence across Suffolk locations and flexible working from home.
Base locations:
- West: West Suffolk House, Bury St Edmunds
- Ipswich: Endeavour House
- North: Riverside, Lowestoft
- Delivering safe, timely, and effective front-line OT services across the directorate
- Supporting triage and streamlining pathways between health and social care to help reduce OT waiting lists
- Working with external care providers to ensure safe and appropriate moving and handling practices
- Reviewing care packages to ensure best value for Adult Social Care and optimal use of equipment
- Reviewing and making recommendations on double-handed care packages
- Providing mutual aid across other OT areas when required
- Carrying out high-quality OT assessments and reviews
