We are looking to appoint a
skilled and resilient SEN Teacher to join a
Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in
East London, supporting pupils with
SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and complex backgrounds. This is a highly rewarding role for a teacher who thrives in a structured, supportive, and trauma-informed environment.
The Role:- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to small classes of pupils with SEMH needs
- Teach across core subjects (or your subject specialism) at KS3βKS4
- Implement consistent behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may be disengaged from education
- Track progress against EHCPs, Individual Behaviour Plans, and reintegration targets
- Work collaboratively with LSAs, behaviour mentors, pastoral staff, and external agencies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working in a PRU, Alternative Provision, or SEMH setting (essential or highly desirable)
- Strong classroom presence with a calm, consistent approach
- Excellent understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding
- The ability to motivate and re-engage vulnerable learners
