Headteacher – Special Educational Needs
Are you an experienced Headteacher looking for an opportunity to lead an excellent special school? This vibrant and welcoming school is looking for an outstanding Headteacher to take the reins and continue to build on the school’s sturdy foundations. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for staff and students and is committed to providing every child with an outstanding education. As Headteacher you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of this school, supported by an Executive Headteacher who has a pupil-centred approach to education. This school is happy to consider a Headteacher from a mainstream or SEND background to lead with compassion and clarity.

Job Role:

• Providing inspirational leadership and setting a clear strategic direction for staff and students
• Maintaining a high-quality, safe, and inclusive learning environment
• Ensuring progress, well-being, and personal development of pupils with moderate and complex needs
• Working collaboratively with parents, carers, external agencies, and the wider community. Building positive professional relationships
• Managing the school budget, finances, facilities, and resources.
• Responsible for planning, managing and delivering a curriculum that is tailored to the individual needs of students, fosters creativity, engagement and a love for learning.

Requirements:

• Leadership experience as a Headteacher, Executive Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher in a SEND or Mainstream School
• Strong knowledge of SEN policies, procedures, and practices
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS); NPQSL, NPQH, or NPQEL desirable
• Demonstrated outstanding leadership skills, managing a large team of staff, and supporting students with varied needs.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to build positive relationships with parents, staff, governors, and outside agencies
