Maths Teacher – PRU – Wolverhampton
Are you a passionate and resilient Maths Teacher who thrives on making a difference to young people’s lives? A Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wolverhampton is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Teacher to join their team, teaching small groups of Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students who have been excluded or struggled in mainstream education.

As a Maths Teacher in this setting, you will deliver creative, engaging lessons that inspire confidence and re-engage students with learning. You will be supported by an experienced team of teaching assistants and pastoral staff who are committed to helping every student achieve their potential — academically, socially, and emotionally.

Job Role:

• Teach Maths to small groups of students up to GCSE level.
• Plan and deliver lessons that are accessible, practical, and engaging.
• Create a positive classroom environment that promotes trust and respect.
• Use effective behaviour management strategies to encourage positive engagement.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, mentors, and leadership to support student progress.
• Help students to build resilience, confidence, and a positive attitude toward education.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Maths.
• Previous experience teaching students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours (PRU experience desirable).
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• A calm, patient, and flexible approach to teaching.
• Commitment to ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.
