This school provides a nurturing and therapeutic learning environment for children with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and additional complex needs.

As a Primary SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating engaging, individualised learning experiences that help each child achieve their full potential. You’ll work closely with a dedicated team of teaching assistants, therapists, and senior leaders who are committed to providing outstanding education and care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs and EHCPs.
• Foster a calm, inclusive, and positive classroom atmosphere where every child feels safe and valued.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to support academic and emotional development.
• Track and monitor pupil progress, providing detailed feedback and celebrating every achievement.
• Support the development of communication, social, and life skills through structured routines and sensory learning.
• Contribute to the wider school community by promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and teamwork.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally within a special school or alternative provision.
• Knowledge of Autism, MLD, and communication strategies such as PECS or Makaton (desirable).
• A patient, empathetic approach and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
