SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant
 
Do you want meaningful school experience before teacher training or an SEN-focused career? Could you provide calm, consistent support for KS2 pupils with Autism and ADHD so they can access learning and thrive?

*** Autism and ADHD support across KS2
 
The Role:
Work with the SENCO and class teachers to deliver targeted support for KS2 pupils with Autism and ADHD. You’ll run short, structured interventions, use visual timetables and clear routines, and scaffold transitions. You’ll adapt tasks, encourage regulation strategies, and keep concise notes to inform next steps with staff and parents.
 
The Candidate:
You’re a graduate with a patient, empathetic approach and clear communication. You follow support plans, maintain firm but fair boundaries, and build trust quickly. You’re organised, reflective, and motivated to remove barriers to learning.
 
Requirements
• Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Desire to work in education/with children – Strong interest in SEN, behaviour support and pupil wellbeing.
• Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (SEN support, mentoring, tutoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
