*** £85 - £98 per day
*** ‘Outstanding’ primary school, Selly Oak
*** 1:1 and small group intervention support within Autism

What you’ll do:
Provide steady 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism. Break learning into clear steps. Use visual timetables and now next prompts. Run short sessions that build communication, regulation, reading and number skills. Keep brief records and share next actions with the class teacher and SENCO.

Who you are:
Calm, organised and clear in your language. You follow plans, spot triggers early, and adapt quickly so pupils can re-engage and build independence.

Requirements
  • Degree – 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication – Strong written and spoken English.
  • Enhanced DBS – Valid certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in SEN and pupil wellbeing.
  • Experience working with children – Relevant experience such as SEN support, mentoring or volunteering is desirable but not essential.

The School:
This ‘Outstanding’ Selly Oak primary is two form entry with calm, well organised classrooms and simple behaviour routines. Inclusion is a strength. The SEN team runs regular plan do review cycles, keeps ready to use visuals and sensory tools, and provides access to regulation spaces when needed. Reading is prioritised with systematic phonics and daily guided reading. Maths is taught in small, connected steps with frequent retrieval and shared methods across year groups. Teams co plan and share model texts, worked examples and ready to use intervention packs, so you are not starting from scratch. New colleagues receive a clear induction, weekly short CPD and coaching drop ins with precise, usable next moves. You get the conditions to show impact quickly and build strong evidence for Educational Psychology or initial teacher training.
