The Role:
You will deliver short, targeted boosters that align with the Year 6 curriculum and assessment calendar. In maths, you will secure arithmetic fluency, fractions, decimals and percentages, and multi-step reasoning using clear worked examples and guided practice. In reading, you will build stamina, teach question types and practise evidence-based answers. You will model planning for extended responses, tighten spelling, punctuation and grammar, and teach timing strategies so pupils finish under pressure. You will use past-paper items, retrieval routines and quick diagnostics to spot gaps early, then record brief outcomes and agree next steps with the class teacher so intervention stays in step with mocks and topic tests. You will help keep lessons calm with tidy resources, predictable routines and smooth transitions.
 
The Candidate & Requirements:
• Degree at 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Communication, clear written and spoken English with precise feedback.
• Enhanced DBS, already held or willingness to obtain.
• Desire to work in education with a commitment to pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Experience working with children, such as tutoring or mentoring, is desirable but not essential.

Year 6 teams co-plan sequenced units with shared model answers, revision packs and item banks, so your sessions dovetail with classroom teaching.
