Salary: PAYE: £29.22 per hour | Umbrella: £37.51 per hour
Are you an experienced Social Worker looking to use your skills to support vulnerable children and families? Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join the Assessment South Team within Children’s Services. This temporary 12-week role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by contributing to high-quality assessment, safeguarding, and support planning.

What You’ll Do:

• Undertake timely, high-quality assessments for children and families referred to the service.
• Lead on care and support planning, ensuring that children’s welfare and safeguarding needs are prioritised.
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to deliver effective interventions and achieve positive outcomes.
• Maintain clear, accurate case records and provide professional reports for meetings, planning forums, and legal processes where required.
• Offer professional guidance within the team, supporting best practice in assessment and decision-making.

What We’re Looking For:

• A qualified Social Worker with a Degree/Diploma in Social Work and registration with Social Care Wales (or equivalent).
• Strong experience in children’s services, particularly assessment, safeguarding, and multi-agency working.
• Excellent communication, analysis, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, managing a demanding caseload while delivering high-quality practice.
• Knowledge of childcare legislation, safeguarding procedures, and evidence-based practice.

Essential Requirements:

• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS check.
• 5 years of references/work history.
• Social Care Wales registration (or ability to obtain).
• Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
