Job Advert: Qualified Children’s Social Worker 
Location: Brecon Enterprise Park, Brecon, Powys LD3 8BT
Employment Type: Temporary (12 weeks – very strong likelihood of extension)

Start Date: Monday 8 December 2025
Hours: Full-time 37 hours per week (hybrid working available)
Salary: PAYE: £28.35+ per hour | Umbrella: £36.39 per hour

The Team
Stable, supportive Care & Support team covering beautiful South & Mid Powys (Brecon, Ystradgynlais, Hay-on-Wye, Crickhowell, Builth area).

Mixed caseload: Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, and some court work.

• Low caseloads (rarely above 20)
• Proper supervision & manageable travel 
• Modern office with free parking
• Friendly, rural authority with a great reputation among locums

You must have

• Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, Degree)
• Current Social Care Wales registration
• Minimum 18–24 months post-qualifying statutory children & families experience
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply immediately)
• Full driving licence & own car
